Each year, visitors travel throughout the globe stopping at various vacation hotspots and 2011 was no exception.

To help future travelers find the destination and resort of their choice, HolidayCheck conducts an annual survey of customer favorite locations and selects its 99 favorites at the beginning of the following year.

While many of the top 99 most popular worldwide hotels were located in Europe, 2 were selected in Mexico and both were located in the tropical paradise retreat known as the Riviera Maya.

Located on the eastern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula in the Mexican state of the Quintana Roo, Riviera Maya, also known as the Mayan Riviera, boast beautiful blue Caribbean water, soft white sandy beaches and vacation options for all types of travelers.
